3D NASA Viewer

Welcome!

This is a new blog that highlights 3D models and visualizations that are related to NASA. All the models and visualizations featured were created with and can be viewed with Google Earth (TM) or with Google Sketchup (TM). For each entry we will provide links and or quotes of relevant articles or information that  is related to 3D models. This blog is created by 3D Serves U , a company that specializes in using geomodeling for Google Earth.

At the top of the page we have a embedded Google Earth Keyhole Markup Language (KML) window where we will feature various NASA events and locations. Currently, to commemorate the last shuttle launching, STS-135, we have a "Real-Time Space Shuttle in Google Earth"  that NASA created to track the Shuttle's orbit around the earth. They also created a the live groundtrack file here and a  replay of the STS-135 ascent. You will need Google Earth to use this file. Don’t have Google Earth? Download it here.

I have embedded the file in this post to save you some time, but if you can't see the Google Earth Windows on your browser, that means you need to download the plugin.

Oh they also created a file of the Shuttle landing too..

Pretty cool, huh? Too bad this is the last shuttle launch. Well, hopefully NASA will continue to make use of Google Earth to help visualize all that do in the pursuit of manned spaceflight and space science.
